| The Story of the Irish Potato |
| The "Irish Potato" is a candy well known to the Philadelphia area. Legend has it that a local candy maker had an extra batch of coconut cream he was using to make Easter eggs. He didn't want to throw out the mixture so he rolled the candy in cinnamon, to resemble a small potato, and sold them around St. Patrick's Day, calling them Irish Potatoes. Emerald Confections began using a treasured family recipe for this one unique candy. Customer demand has led to the creation of an ever expanding line of decadent confections. We ensure our product's freshness by using only the finest ingredients. We prepare all of our candies in small batches and each piece is rolled, dipped, decorated and packed by hand. With attention given to every detail we guarantee that with each bite you will understand why we wanted to share our regional candy with others. |
